Caketin Love Sweet and Simple Cakes are less complex, so they can be made within two days. These cakes still look and taste delectable, and are the perfect solution if time is short or you don’t require a fully custom designed cake. For fully customised cakes and Dessert Buffets, to provide a precise quote, we will need you to request a quote by email or call Caketin Love. The price will be determined by factors including the number of servings, the design and amount of decoration required.

To help with a speedy reply, an accurate quote and to let you know if the delivery date you would like is available, please ensure you provide as much information as possible. 

For example:  

• Size of cake and desired shape 
• Number of servings required
• Desired flavour/s and filling/s
• Date required
• Your budget
• Specific embellishments, colours and theme you may have in mind.

Photos are helpful - either of a Caketin Love cake, or a cake you have seen elsewhere. However, we will not plagiarise the design (copy it exactly). With your permission we will add our artistic interpretation to the design, to create a custom design.

Orders can be made by phone, text, private message or email. Note that Wednesdays to Sundays are extremely busy at Caketin Love, so it may take a few days for us to respond. If you have not had a reply after a week, please resend your message – especially if it was via Facebook.

Orders are booked and confirmed once your deposit is made, then re-confirmed the Monday prior to pick-up/delivery - to lock in pick-up times and days. It is at your own risk if you cancel the event or occasion and wish to move the cake delivery/pick-up date. We may not be able to accommodate the new date and if that is the case, the choice is yours to have the cake made on the original date or to forfeit your deposit.

Once your order is confirmed, a 50% deposit is required to secure your date. This deposit needs to be made promptly, to ensure your date is locked in. A payment plan may be available, if previously discussed. If no deposit has been made or no payment plan put in place one week after booking, your cake order and date will be cancelled and the date may be offered to another client.

There is a strict, no refund policy, unless otherwise determined by Caketin Love management. Thank you for your understanding.

Caketin Love can take orders from countries outside New Zealand. Contact us and we will advise regarding your payment options.

Please note that pick-ups from Caketin Love are by appointment only.

Your cake/order is precious to us too, so Caketin Love offers a free, personal delivery service within Whangarei. Caketin Love also delivers our Wedding Cakes anywhere within two hours drive from Whangarei - including to the North Shore in Auckland. On arrival, we either set up your cake ready for your wedding/special occasion, or advise on how to store it until your special day.

For pick-ups, Caketin Love takes no responsibility for any damage caused once your cake/order has left Caketin Love. If in the unfortunate circumstance damage does occur, contact us immediately and we will do our best to help remedy the situation. This may incur a charge if the client is at fault.

All Caketin Love cakes have a layer of ganache, to help seal the cake and keep it fresh. Stored as advised by us, your uncut cake will store well in the supplied box, in a cool area. Do not refrigerate. Your cake will be fine for at least two days, some cakes for a lot longer. The length of time is dependent on the type of cake, fillings and decoration. We can discuss this with you when your cake order is finalised.

Yes the kitchen is registered with, verified and regularly inspected by the Whangarei District Council. Caketin Love has an ‘A’ Merit Grading.

Tiered cakes are stacked with a cake board under each tier, and support rods (4-8) in each cake. These rods are not edible and should be removed before consumption. Depending how tall the cake is, a centre dowel will have been put through the cake and into the cake board.

Caketin Love holds Cake Decorating Classes for adults, in Winter - dates to be advised. (Sorry, we don’t do children’s classes anymore). Classes are held at our cake studio in Oakleigh, 10 minutes south of Whangarei {see map}. If you would like to be emailed when class details have been finalised, please email Caketin Love.
